This role is office based in Kilwaughter, Larne


We have an exciting opportunity for a technically strong Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Working in a busy production environment you will be a key part of the success of the Engineering team, delivering best practice preventative maintenance and plant up-time.

The strategic focus of this role will be to develop technical skills and knowledge and drive forward a proactive root cause analysis culture.


Take responsibility for health, safety and well-being to deliver a safety first culture

Bring a root cause based mindset and culture to deliver high quality solutions

Develop and report concise data driven metrics to inform priorities and action plans

Provide depth of technical advice and guidance to improve the reliability and performance of all plant

Assist with the installation, servicing and maintenance of a wide range of production plant and machinery

Maintain collaborative working practices, building strong relationships with all internal stakeholders. Work closely with Production to prioritise daily workload and plant maintenance

Manage breakdowns with urgency to minimise downtime, working outside of core hours, unprompted with the wider team where valuable to do so

Lead in the development of process plans, methods, design, material handling, manpower requirements, cost analysis and other areas as appropriate

Own a high-quality preventative maintenance schedule to reduce downtime, and achieve optimal levels of capacity and efficiency

Have the ability and confidence to make pragmatic decisions using knowledge, experience and judgement

Work in partnership with the Engineering process team to optimize control loops and functions to attain continuous performance improvement

Demonstrate a change instigator mindset to lead our continuous improvement and change culture

Demonstrate resiliency and ambition to build and drive long term engineering excellence

Job Title: Electrical Engineer





  • A 3rd level qualification in Engineering or similar
  • HND/HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, and/or time served Electrical background
  • 18 Edition electrical installation
  • 2391 Inspection and Testing
  • PLC knowledge


  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience gained in a manufacturing environment, or similar role
  • Experience working with and installing single phase/three phase electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of current H&S legislation
  • Root cause analysis & fault-finding experience on automated machinery & electrical systems
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, electrical drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals
  • Experience of both the installation of new equipment and overhaul of existing equipment
  • Control & Automaton systems experience
  • Inverter drives, HMIs, and PLCs (preferably Siemens)
  • Mechanical drive systems
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
