Kilwaughter Minerals Wins Big at Prestigious National Industry Awards

Kilwaughter Minerals brand, K Systems, has picked up a prestigious accolade at the 2021 Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA) awards.

Kilwaughter Mineralsbrand, K Systems, has picked up a prestigious accolade at the 2021 Insulated Render and Cladding Association(INCA) awards.

Beating off stiff competition from its UK counterparts, K Systems topped the ‘Refurb: Insulation and Rendered Finish’ category with its impressive, £1.2M Fitzwarren Court transformation project to take home an INCA award for the first time in the company’s history.

The renowned INCA awards celebrate the best of innovation and excellence in the UK, and this year, in its 40th year, reported a record number of entries from builders, suppliers, and contractors keen to showcase their achievements during the difficult pandemic period.

Speaking of his delight at the award win, Sales Director at Kilwaughter Minerals, David Grace, said:

“The INCA awards are recognised across the UK as the industry benchmark for render and cladding excellence, so we are extremely proud to pick up this award.

“The ability to excel and deliver a top-class, industry-best renovation project, on time and within budget, is a huge endorsement of the skill, capability, and dedication of our teams on the ground.

“Completed in partnership with Hamilton Building, the facades contractor, it’s a shining example of a real collaborative project, and winning a coveted INCA award for the very first time is the perfect way to close out 2021.

“The External Wall Insulation (EWI) market is a growth segment driven by the government’s Net Zero Carbon Agenda and it’s inspiring to see the benefits of thermal comfort being realised alongside eye catching aesthetics.”

Robert Storton of Hamilton Building Contractors who played an integral role in the refurbishment of the 23-storey Salford tower block, also said:

“It was a pleasure to work with K Systems on such a high-profile project.

“A mainstay of the Salford skyline since the 1970’s, the residential building was in much need of some TLC. The K Systems M Silicone system was the best choice in our eyes, to completely transform one of the tallest buildings in the city and improve the aesthetic in this area of Salford.”

The refurbishment of Fitzwarren Court not only resulted in the aesthetic improvement of the multi-storey residential building, but also in the significant enhancement of the property’s thermal performance and achievement of a non-combustible fire rating, ensuring compliance with building regulations in England for high-rise properties exceeding 18 metres in height.
